oil paint, bees wax, damar resin
'Salty Palm' is an abstract piece, expressing layers of land ocean. While working on this painting I envisioned a shoreline along the ocean; feeling the energetic breeze off the ocean, and the salty haze in the air.
The fun thing about abstract art, is there always is an open conversation. What it makes me feel, may be different than your experience. What do you see and feel when looking at this painting?
24x36 oil paint and encaustic on panel
My progress with these encaustic paintings is to work in many layers. I work layers with oil paint, bees wax, and damar resin. With building many layers, my encaustic pieces turn into a very dimensional painting. The bees wax and damar resin gives the painting a peaceful atmospheric feel.
